The Bicycles are assembled from used bikes and frames found in alleyways, dumpsters, abandoned buildings and at yard sales.
Each part is disassembled, cleaned and de-rusted. Ball bearings, cranks, forks, and hubs, if damaged beyond repair, are either salvaged from other bikes or purchased new or used.
Along with the Resurrection Bicycles South17 also maintains a fleet of bicycles (and helmets) for the public. They are always available to residents and visitors for exercise and leisure.
Families, friends, youth, community, and church groups are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to experience York and Sumter County in the open air. Guided bicycle tours are also available.

Lastly, if you're in the South17 area, we will repair and restore your broke down bicycle. Depending on damage and parts this is a low-cost community service wherein bartering with goods and services is allowed.
